How the Defender-Plus Electronic Corrosion Module works:
The Defender-Plus is installed under the hood of the vehicle and works by drawing a small amount of DC energy from the vehicle’s battery and directing it through a microprocessor which converts this energy into an AC surface current. A carefully-designed, high frequency, battery-driven oscillator is connected to a grounded body panel on the vehicle to be protected, with the induced current being uniformly distributed over the entire surface.

Unlike other electronic systems on the market, the Defender-Plus is not a cathodic protection system. This is because no electrolyte return path is required between the site being protected and an anode, and also because cathodic systems must work with direct current (DC).
